We just moved to a new home, and immediately felt the amount of heat in the house needed to be addressed immediately for us to be comfortable. Having a whole house fan installed was the perfect choice. We found JDC Energy through Home Adviser. The representative at the office was very helpful and arranged for a preliminary inspection of my home. George was the representative that did the inspection and he was professional, friendly, and very informative. He presented just the facts of how a whole house fan could help without any unnecessary sales pitch. On the day of the installation both George and Herbert worked like a well oiled team. They were friendly, kept the work area clean, they worked fast, there was minimal disruptions, and only after a couple of hours they were showing us how to use the whole house fan. Over the past few days with the whole house fan the house has been very comfortable. Thanks to the JDC team for making that happen.

Jorge was my technician. He didnt an excellent job of explaining what he was doing. He was very courteous and extremely professional. I would recommend to anyone to ask for him for their next job. Great job, Jorge!

Im writing this review and trying to fair. I hired JDC Energy Solutions to replace a whole house fan in my home.I received a phone quote and the company sent their installer to review and confirm phone estimate. The installer reviewed my home and added additional labor charges to frame for the fan, add drywall - patch, texture and paint. (they would be using the same location as our existing whole house fan which had an opening into the ceiling larger than the new fan - it would require aprox. 2 1/2 square feet of patch.)I accepted the new bid and work was scheduled. The first day of work - the installation employees were prompt and very friendly. The 2 worked for about 6 hours, they said they would return the next morning to sand, texture and paint. This is where everything went south. The drywall work ended up looking really bad. When the employee returned in the morning - I had to ask if he had any drywall experience - his response was staggering Ive only worked on small holes in drywall, I told the owner I did not feel comfortable doing this job - he told me to give it a try.I stopped the work and contacting the office with my concerns - Which included the employees did not bring any painters tarps or plastic to protect my home. ( before calling JDC - I Also contacted a carpet cleaner getting a bid to clean my carpet- JDC agreed to subtract $175 because of the cleaning required.) Discussing the concerns with drywall- I was told their regular employee that worked on drywall was on vacation - and they would schedule him to come out when he returns from vacation the following Tuesday- Tuesday came - no call, I waited till Thursday afternoon and called to ask when I would be scheduled to complete work. Stating my frustration I was scheduled for the following week. The employee showed up, reviewed work and stated all work would need to be redone including the framing. This employee worked approximately 6 hours and again finished saying he would return in 2 days to sand texture and paint ceiling.OMG, his work on the drywall a bit better but just as troubling to me (photos show pictures from both 1st day and the second employees work)I called another contractor to come out and review. This contractor stated he would also need to redo all work back to the framing to complete correctly. I sent his information to JDC along with video and pictures- they agreed to subtract another $300 for the contractors work, however once the work was started the 2nd contractor found additional issues where the ac duct work was damaged and the fan was not framed at all on one side.I was told he would charge an additional $250 to correct the additional issues - JDC again agreed to subtract the new charges from the bill. The job was completed by the second contractor- but I never heard from JDC Energy except to send me an updated bill.Bottom Line - its ok to make a mistake, its what we do with mistakes that show others who we are - your responsibility was at the very least - call and say sorry - it got away from usWhich would have been enough, a reasonable person would acknowledge the error accept and appreciate your call and move on - because - at the end of the day - the job did get completed. But youve lost my vote, when I wasnt important enough for your 2 minute phone call.Nov 4, let me add - the job was finished and everything was corrected by the 2nd contractor. The Quietcool 4.8 Stealth whole house fan has been a wonderful addition . Was on the fence because of the cost - but it has been an item we should have added years ago - a slight hum when fan runs (does not interfere with rest for either my wife or I. I would recommend the Quietcool fan addition to anyone - during the really hot days a month ago - the house was incredibly cooler by letting the Fan run early in the morning to bring the morning air in and we start again around 5 PM - 7PM to bring the early evening air in. Great addition 2 thumbs up!!
