Boston Solar worked well with Solarize Needham, a local affiliation aimed at increasing green energy in residential use. They did a great job with all the incentives and rebates, and the loan company. All in all they made it pretty easy for something actually has a lot of moving parts to put the package together. I can see my energy produced on a website for that, and its exciting to see how much is being generated, how much we are using and how much goes back onto the grid. The installation is perfect and we're hoping it continues to be good, as it is definitely a long term relationship with the solar company going forward. It was slow getting it going with the pandemic but they got it done and now we're looking forward to generating our own electricity for the first time ever.

Overall we are very happy with the solar power system. Our project was fairly complicated, two Tesla powerwall 2 batteries, 41LG panels.... producing 14,000 kWh annually. System was finalized last week and we had our first power outage last night. System worked great - no interruptions in power, and no noise from a generator. Our only complaint is that it took forever for the system to be installed! Combination of factors caused this to happen. The most frustrating one being National Grid required a transformer to be installed, so we had to wait on them - and we are still waiting for our incentive checks to start coming. The installation crews and sales were great. The only room for improvement is on communication. I had to be proactive and reach out to them on the status of our install. We would highly recommend them.

the experience from the initial sales/information visit all the way up to the close-out meeting were all very well organized and thorough. I was able to have the system designed & installed how I wanted, which resulted in a seamless process and unobtrusive end result.

Overall, the experience with Boston Solar was very positive. Im a detail oriented architect and tend to want to be more involved in the process than most contractors expect from their typical clients. The salesperson, Mark, was knowledgeable and willing and able to handle any questions we had. He also put together a couple different itemized pricing packages at our request. We also had reservations about committing to the purchase of a large solar array, in which the exact number of panels determine the amount of money to be financed, without a field verification of the roof to confirm panel quantity and configuration. Mark facilitated this, even though it is normally reserved for their design phase, which I appreciated. It turns out we could fit one more panel than we initially thought.Olivia is our project coordinator, and is also excellent. I requested a copy of the cad files of the layout to confirm the optimal layout from both a functional and aesthetic standpoint, which Olivia was able to facilitate as well. I reviewed one small layout modification with Olivia, which was relayed to, and confirmed with the project engineer. I appreciated this coordination as well. All members of the installation crew were quite skilled, and the lead electrician was helpful in reviewing potential conduit runs with me. The one thing that was initially a bit disconcerting on install day was that the crew showed up with an old design drawing that didnt capture the one modification made to one of the arrays. There was a disconnect somewhere between the office and the install crew. It didnt prove to be a problem for the crew and I printed out the final version for reference. The install went well and looks great. For some reason, the critter guards werent installed on my scheduled installation date, even though the whole job was supposed to be done in one day. Fortunately, Olivia managed to schedule the that follow up install just two business days later.I scheduled one separate call back with them to fill the conduit penetrations through the closed cell spray foam roof insulation with spray foam, rather than the duct seal that was initially installed, to fully seal around the conduit and replicate the r-value that had been removed. This call back was executed quickly and smoothly. Were just waiting now for National Grid to come out to install the net meter, so we can finally turn the system on. Fingers crossed! Were looking forward to using our new solar system.

We had the best , professional, and courteous service from Boston Solar. We were originally approached by a competitor, and because we were knew to solar energy, we had a LOT of questions. The competitor not only didn't have answers to our questions, but seemed ill prepared to talk about the different programs offered by MA. Because of this we decided to look into other providers and go with a more knowledge company. Boston Solar was able to answer all our questions and they were especially knowledgeable, not only about their product, but with our questions about the tax advantages and our questions about how it works. The workers were quick and respectful with our home and they were always prompt. Boston Solar was attentive to our every concerns from scheduling to communicating with us at every stage of the process. We couldn't have been happier with the work from Boston Solar.Thank you Boston Solar!Susan & Scott Bearce
