When we first considered solar we went with sunrun because we found them in Costco. Hector was the salesman who contacted us, he was very friendly and helpful at first. Once the contract was signed it was as if he didn't exist. Empty promises and lies. I do think solar is a good deal just not with this company. They don't care about the customer, all they want is your money.

David Kelchner was an excellent sales representative, and he made sure the installation process went smoothly. He answered all of my questions from start to finish, and was extremely professional. The installation and inspection crews were also extremely professional and efficient. This review is limited to my experience with the installation of my solar system because my solar system was turned on less than a week ago. At this time, I cannot speak about any of my experience using the system or any follow up pertaining to warranties since it is too soon for me to form an opinion in those areas. I will update this review when I cross those bridges. However, if those things go as smoothly as the installation process, then I will continue to be a fully satisfied Sunrun customer. My expectations are very high at this point though. Thank you!

I had a great experience hiring Sunrun to design and install the solar panels for my home. I was most impressed by the high level of integrity demonstrated by all of the Sunrun employees I interacted with. Sunrun has some tremendous people working for their company. I especially want to recognize our sales representative David Kelchner who was an absolute pleasure to work with. David is a genuine human being who really cares about his clients. He was knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. David was there to help me every step of the way whenever I had a question about the project.

Despite being told to not contact me, they text and called me multiple times. When I finally answered the phone, they were argumentative and insisted I had requested their calls.

My neighbor recently got solar with Sunrun. When I asked about it, she was very quick to refer me to Nathan Jeffcoat who helped her. Nathan was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions clearly and made the decision to go solar easy. We highly recommend you work with Nathan and Sunrun if you want solar.

Hector at Sunrun was fantastic...very knowledgeable and super nice. He honestly convinced me with the numbers and the plan and everything! I was very impressed with him and I really enjoyed chatting with him. Assuming all goes well with the next steps, I am happy we made this choice.

My experience with David Kelchner at Sunrun was smooth and trouble-free. Though not the lowest bid, the quality of service and equipment that I received were top-notch. During the planning process, my aesthetic requests were incorporated into the design, and the installation was done professionally. They ended up coming back and to do a bunch of work to satisfy a very picky local inspector. All was taken care of. My electric meter is now going backwards! Highly recommended.

Our SunRun representative Nathan did a fantastic job of explaining all the benefits of having solar installed in our home. Nathan was always quick to reply to phone calls and texts regarding the install. Even on the Labor Day holiday!! He's a 1st class guy for sure!! The installation was done in 1 day! My husband and i are very impressed with the SunRun staff. And the other benefit is (no kidding) we will be saving approx. $400 - $500 a month of electricity... :)

I was taking bids for my solar system and decided between Sunrun Solar and Affordable solar. When talking to Mike, the Sunrun rep, he informed me that the system that Affordable had proposed was not correct in the projected output. The kilowat hours were much less than the System Sunrun had proposed and at a more expensive price. Checking back with the Affordable rep, they could not explain system output properly. After this, we decided to go with Sunrun and are extremely happy with the service and the company.

It was a pleasure working with Stephanie from Sunrun. The consultation was very informative and helped me decide on the best system to meet my needs. Theres no reason not to go solar to save money on your electric bill and when you have people like Stephanie from Sunrun guiding you through the process, I wonder why i never switched to solar before.

I got solar panels a few months ago and am already very impressed. I have 2 refrigerated units (one for downstairs and for upstairs. 2k sq ft home). My PNM bill for May was $182 (no panels), for June $116 with 12 days of my solar panels being installed, and this bill is $69 with 30 billed days of solar panels. Same time last year my bill was $367!! I was working with 3 different companies, investigating, and working the numbers and at the end Sunrun was a no-brainer because of the plan I chose. Ask for Nathan, he's got the patience to come back 3 times to work numbers with you and figure out the right plan for you.

Dave Kelchner at Sunrun Solar in Albuquerque takes his time to review your current setup, how Solar could help and the benefits behind it. On top of Dave being phenomenal, the quality of Sunrun's products are far superior to the competition as I has shopped around. Highly recommend giving Dave Kelchner a call!

Ive never been interested in solar; even after selling solar homes in the past. I spoke to Nathan Jeffcoat who was referred to me by my cousin and he knocked it outta the park. I now understand it so much better and he was true to his word before and after the sale. Talk to Nathan!

My husband and I were so excited to have solar! After the instillation of our panels my husband noticed damage done to our roof, our roof is less than a year old, he called the company they requested pictures and those were sent. A roofing company came out and started to replace shingles, my husband was told there was a lot of damage done and sunrun would have to remove the panels to fix damage done under them. We have initiated EVERY phone call to them, no return calls from them unless we called the sales rep and she would get us to someone else. There is always an excuse on Sunrun's end about why it's being delayed, why we aren't getting phone calls back. When we told them that we were thinking of them taking their panels off our roof because if we are having issues now what issues are we going to have in the future, they said it would be at our expense. My husband had to call the roofing company to find out the status and the roofer told my husband that Eric (from Sunrun) told him that it would be too expensive to fix and therefore it was done. This has been a horrible experience, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THEM!!! Sunrun does not take responsibility for their actions, nor do they treat their new customers with any respect. we are pretty laid back people and in the beginning we were only asking for communication and to fix what they 'broke' but they can't seem to do that!!!HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

My system has been up and running since January this year. I am extremely happy with it. Sunrun detected that my system was not performing right, so they came out immediately to fix it. I would have never know anything was wrong.

I recently invited David Kelchner at Sunrun to evaluate my home for solar. I found him to be extremely professional, courteous, friendly and informative. He met with me at my home, learned about my objectives, evaluated the site, and provided an excellent on-the-spot proposal for adding solar to my home. I am very comfortable recommending him if you have any interest in residential solar.

Becky and I really enjoyed our whole experience with Sunrun and Dave Kelchner. I'm not going to name the other company that promised us they would replace all of our light bulbs with LED's if we just let their sales rep give his presentation with no obligation. We got excited by the presentation from one of the owners of the local company. We applied to have a system installed, were declined because our credit score was not good enough and they never gave us the LED light bulbs we were promised. In sharp contrast Our Sunrun Rep Dave Kelchner was amazing. First, he had an option that we qualified for because Sunrun has more options for people without great credit. Second, Dave kept every promise he made us and exceeded our wildest expectations every step of the way. The installation team was fantastic, explained all of the steps in the process and took great care of us. The Sunrun app on our phones is amazing. We pull it up every morning at breakfast and it tells us how many kilowatts our system generated the day before. Better than that is our knowledge that Sunrun is monitoring our system too and that they will call us and send maintenance if our system ever fails to produce like it should. I believe we have already referred 7 or 8 people and two of those referrals have their Sunrun solar systems installed already. I think Dave and Sunrun are starting a movement, and I'm proud to be a part of it.

SunRun referred us to a roofing company called A Reliable Roofing. Worst decision we ever made. I wish SunRun screened the help they recommended. We buried the littlest member of our family Wednesday night. Our 3.5 year old Yorkie. My heart is heavy and I cant help but think the roofing company SunRun referred us to may have had a part to play in her death. This company was hired to fully replace the roof due to hail damage. They were extremely unprofessional and completely careless when it came to how they conducted business while they were working on our home. They left materials including tools, nails, plastic, metal and shingles behind after EVERY visit. They also left trash, food, sodas, and clothes behind after each visit as well. We had to call them each time to come back and clean up their mess. They even left heavy tools and equipment on the completely stripped roof that couldve fallen through and hit us. It boggles my mind how a young, healthy dog can just die out of nowhere. She was healthy and wouldve been 4 in September. I know nothing will bring back our Sydney but if I can save another family from the threat and potential danger of this company it will be worth it. I never want another family to endure the heartache we have and will continue to go through. SunRun Solar and A Reliable Roofing LLC, owner Ramiro Flores and Rick Courville and all your staff: please do better. Please be better. Please dont allow your inconsiderate staff to put people, especially children, and animals in danger.

I recently had a solar installation done by Sunrun in the Ventana Ranch area of Albuquerque. They were totally professional from the initial interview by their representative, David Kelchner, through attic roof prep, work permitting, client solar monitoring, HOA and PNM coordination, and final installation. My current summer PNM bill is about an $8 connection fee vs the old $300+ Of course, I am paying for my panels, too, but reasonably. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Hello Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this review I'm about to provide for Sunrun. I say thank you, because I want to inspire anyone reading this, that if you are even considering going Solar, LOOK NOWHERE ELSE! Even if you have load of questions, they will answer them honestly and coherently, without putting on the pressure to 'Purchase Now or Else' mentality. I found out about Sunrun in a funny way actually. I had to make a quick trip to Costco for toilet paper and a chicken bake. Always have to get my chicken bake if I go to Costco. That's truly all I needed. haha!! My amazing wife and I always spoke about solar and wondered if we should look into it, but never knew where to start or what company to trust. Like Many others my family and I Love the Costco Brand and what they represent as a company in all aspects, so I trust their judgment on who they allow to partner with inside of their brand. A very nice young man standing in a random section reached out and said 'Ever considered going solar in your home'? Right away I was like 'yes, we have, but didn't have time to stay and talk'. in a matter of minutes, the young man said 'We would love to meet you at your home at no cost and just answer all the questions you have' Sounded great to me. in 48 Hours had a very nice salesman, David, show up to my home and gave me the full run down. I got excited and looked at my wife and said let's go for it.Now that my little story is out of the way, all I can say is... I had to do NOTHING on my end, except sign a few things of electronic paperwork. NEVER had to go downtown to get permits. NEVER had to speak to My HOA about anything. NEVER had to stay at home and wait all day for someone to show up to do something and there are quite a few different organizations/people involved in this process. Sunrun took care of EVERYTHING!!! No exaggeration. Now I have 29 panels on my roof (most homes can use less possibly depending on your usage and needs). My Sunrun system has been up and running for 2 weeks now and my panels have already produced almost 700 kilowatts of energy!!! My family and I use about 1500 to 2000 kilowatts (A month) in those hot summer months (June, July, August). Amazing to not be that dad yelling 'Who touched the Thermostat'?! anymore. Such a great time!! Makes me want to be a part of their company in all honesty lolHey Sunrun, if there's any way I can help to convince people to become a part of the Sunrun Family, please let me know. Thanks again for making everything stress free for my family and I and putting more $$$$ in our pockets!! Sincerely,Chris Donelli Albuquerque, New Mexico

I rarely leave one star reviews, so I will try my best to explain the full extent our reasons for cancelling our agreement with SunRun and giving a poor rating here.Last year, in December of 2018, SunRun solicited us at our door. We had already been doing extensive research on getting solar panels for our roof, so this seemed serendipitous. We met with their representative on a Saturday afternoon and by the end of it all we had agreed to purchase enough solar panels to cover 99% of our power usage. Designs were drawn up, their inspector came out to have a look at the roof, and everything was given the green light to move ahead. Early February, SunRun came out (a day late) to install our panels. They had the meter attached to our wall, crawled all over the roof, and an hour later came down to inform me that their measurements had been off, that they couldn't install on the roof planes they'd planned, and that our roof was not in good condition. I asked about their inspector's report, and they indicated they were unhappy with his work. They then promised to call next day to set down plans for the next step. They left the full complement of solar panels leaning against the side of our house along with all their installation hardware in a stack in our garage.Five weeks followed. No word, despite repeated attempts by me to call or text our project manager and installation man respectively (the only two numbers I could find for anyone with SunRun in Albuquerque). The latter responded loosely but gave no real help. Meanwhile, the windy spring weather repeatedly blew the panels over several times over. By now it was April and I was beginning to investigate legal action that I could take to remove the unwanted panels from our property.Curious about the true state of our roof, we called an independent roofer for his opinion on the condition. He climbed over our roof for half an hour, came down, and showed me pictures of the roof under our clay shingles. He declared it 'not a new roof, but perfectly sound.'By May, I was desperate. A friend suggested the Better Business Bureau, which I looked up. Lo and behold, there was a new number attached to the local branch, as well as a physical address that was nowhere to be found elsewhere online. I called, reached their sales rep, and laid down the gist of our six month journey (battle of attrition?) with their company. He was apologetic, seemed upset by the gross negligence, and informed us that they had let go almost their entire crew the same month of our failed installation. This left me wondering how they could have been missing so many solar panels from their inventory and not go looking for where they went, much less follow through on open customer accounts and stir themselves to give US a call first for once. No matter. He promised to send his boys out to pick up their equipment the next day. June 5, they finally did, almost exactly 4 months after they had left them. One of the men came to me to tell me that they didn't have the right equipment to patch the hole THROUGH my wall with them (really? why not?) and that they would come out next day to patch and repair the stucco. I took the promise with a grain of salt. Glad I did too, because to date, a month later, after another message left with their sales rep and a cursory conversation with the 'stucco guy' that called to tell me he couldn't come out right away because he was going out of town, I find that my expectations are no worse for wear. We have no solar. We now have holes in our wall. We have wind for promises from a company that seems only to be present to install, but not to follow up. It was the lack of attention to detail, customer service, and follow-through that made us abandon SunRun entirely as a company. Not even a call with a, 'How are we doing? How can we help?'We will be taking our business elsewhere. Maybe the next company will be courteous and patch the mess SunRun made.UPDATE: We received a call within minutes of posting this review. Holes patched within 2 weeks.

Hello everyone, My solar experience. It was a little hectic having them installed but turned out ok. My only complaint is that I recently spoke with a Sunrun rep and they mentioned battery back up. I told him I was very interested in having that added to my current Sunrun solar system. He responded that policy says that they can’t add just batteries to a system; it has to be a new system. I don’t understand you can additional panels to my current system but not a battery backup. Umm. They said I could have another company add them. Nope. Not voiding any warranties. Just don’t understand why since I’ve been with them 6yrs and they are currently offering this that the loyal customers don’t get the same options. One last note, I still get a bill during the summer months from PNM. I was also told that my panels were producing at 107% and couldn’t add another to account for the summer months. 3 months out of the year I get two bills. Thank you for reading my post.
