Id have to say that out of all the spotty services I have tried in the area for internet here in portola, Plumas rural electric cooperatives Coax has been the best! Best price and best service, very helpful customer service as well, THANK YOU!

Compared to 5 years ago its night and day. Big winter last year and they performed very well. NO OUTAGES!!! I started off with a 1 star review and it has moved up annually. The internet service offered is much BETTER than digital path.

I get that people hate their ISP, but there are usually reasons for it. In the case of Plumas Sierra Telecommunications hatred doesn't even come close to describing what I think of the ENTIRE COMPANY.I have been experiencing random disconnections and incredible poor performance for about a year. Performance and simple connectivity became so frustrating I contacted them 2-months ago and Plumas Sierra still haven't been able to resolve anything.I have called their supposed technical support, which is little more than an glorified answering machine because all they can do is pass something along, innumerable times. So often I know some of them by name. I have called their offices directly, and have been reassured that they will be getting someone on it right away, only to have nothing resolves. I have provided them with detailed emails including 60 speedtests taken over the course of a month, after hunting for an email to send it to and only being able to send it to their info email, the only one they list on their site. I have talked directly to a representative three times. I have only ever received one voice mail response. And after 2 months of little to no usability for the DSL I have been paying for their technician says he should be able to get around to it, NEXT MONTH.This company also provides electric utilities to the area as well, and they can't even keep the power on reliably. Go ahead google Plumas Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative power outage and see for yourself. The only reason that any of these people have jobs is because of the near-monopoly they have in the area. They are so bad that I would recommend that anyone frustrated by their incompetence should make an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the California State Utilities Commission for electric issues, and the Federal Communications Commission for their pathetic internet non-services.
