I originally posted a 1 star review after receiving a proposal from this company. The owner called me the next day to why. (He obviously cares which is worth 5 starts in my mind.) The reason for my initial 1-star review is that I am a PG&E customer and PG&E's rate plans. If you are a PG&E customer this is something you should know before installing solar. PG&E has 14 different rate plans for solar customers. Unlike other power companies PG&E allows you sell your excess solar electricity to PG&E from anywhere between $0.14 and $0.55. Then when you need electricity you can buy it back. This means you can sell electricity to PG&E at $0.55 and buy it back for just $0.14 which leave you with a $0.41 credit to buy electricity from PG&E at another time. This also means I do not need as many solar panels saving me thousands of dollars. (The person I was working with at Smart Energy Brokers apparently din't understand this.)Now to make things more complicated for PG&E customers considering going solar is that PG&E dropping the amount they are paying for solar electricity from $0.55 to a flat $0.16 for the rate plan I am on at the end of this year. This means I would need to sell PG&E 3 times as much solar electricity for every 1 KWhr I use at night. With PG&E only playing $0.16 it looks like PG&E is making is so solar just isn't worth installing. (But this is for the rate plan I am currently on.)In talking to the owner I realized he was only aware of 2 of PG&E's 14 rate plans. I think they are a good company trying to do their best as PG&E tries to make this as difficult and confusing as possible for customers and solar companies. I like the idea of installing solar. But I think PG&E is doing their best to make it financially unfavorable for us. I'm going to wait and see what PG&E does next year before installing solar.

Dealing with Tomm Hoang for my 7.5 kw system was smooth and painless. He answered all my questions and made the transaction easy.He educated me to the point I would give other people advice of solar was for them.Trust me, these guys wont steer you in the wrong direction. I love my panels and the service that I got!

Tom Hoang was absolutely awesome! I couldnt have asked for a better experience or better service. He was on top of all my questions and made sure to always put my needs first throughout the process. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an energy efficient home.
