FrustratedCalled for quote due to roof being replaced. Was advised they have to replace the roof first then they can come give quote. I advised the roof would be a new laminate shingle so why cant they come give a quote. Was advised they cant get on the roof with an existing system in place. ?? I again just asked if I could get a quote, answer was no. Very frustrated

Received a $500 power bill for last month. I called up Duke energy to ask why I have such a high power bill since I have solar. They told me that my solar credits didn't transfer. My normal bill is $10.58. I called Vivint 8/26 and they didn't know why but would send out a technician out September 5th they were really busy right now. Seems like a really long time to wait, and also another 10 days of charges from Duke energy.I was told when the sales person was here and you can find this entire paragraph in Save the Solar booklet they give to you when you first get the system. ' The system has a performance meter which connects every module and inverter on the Vivint solar array to the internet, so our professionals can remotely monitor and manage the entire system.'Which leads me to the question Why do I have such a large power bill if Vivint monitors and manages the entire system?Talking to the technician today he stated he will have to replace the entire solar edge box because it's not working properly??So today Vivint opened a compensation case for our address. This is how it works.1. outbound team will look into and run numbers to see if they can compensate us. This depends on if they can capture any of the solar credits sent to Duke energy. This will take 48 to 72 business hours to complete.2. I will receive a phone call or email to let me know the verdict and how they reached itI will write another review once Vivint has gotten back to me with their verdict.

Their sales person, Dan Coan, promised my wife and I that any and all maintenance and repairs were covered for 20 years, including removal and replacement of the system if we needed any roof work done.Their pre-installation inspector said our roof was sound and good for another 5 to 10 years. Now 1 year and 9 months later parts of our roof are sagging and we have a leak near the ridge. In defense of the inspector, we did have a direct hit from a Hurricane last fall, and that might have pushed enough water into our ridge vent to damage the roof. However when I called the 877 number I was given to schedule removal of the system so my roofer can re-roof the house I was told it was going to cost me over $4200. Something I was promised would be included for 20 years since, 'If you have to have it done at all it would only be once, at most, during the 20 year service contract, and that's not a big deal.'

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Panels quit working mid-April. Nobody notified me. I realized when I had to pay a power bill in May. I called but first service appointment is mid-June - only one service rep for ALL of Florida?!?! Really??? But the solar loan payments are still due! So now I'm Covid furloughed but paying BOTH solar loan payment AND power bill in the Florida summer. SMDH If you are considering solar DO IT - just find someone other than Vivint Solar! ****btw, not isolated, this just happened to my friend - she had to pay a several hundred dollar power bill because Vivint wouldn't help in a timely manner with panels after install.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! They tell you so many lies just to get you to get their solar panels. One of their lies is that you are going to get 10K in tax return so our loan was done 10k less of the total amount. When we went to do our taxes our accountant told us that is a lie, because nobody gets a return, you only get that as a credit if you own the IRS that money. So please make your research, when we didn't pay the loan company the 10k they raised our payment from $180 to $265. Our electricity bill was $200 in average, actually I'm paying an average of $150 for electricity plus $265 fo solar panels. When our system was installed worked good for the first three or four months and then we lost communications and our electric bill went up. It hasn't came down since. We've had the solar panels for about a year a half and back in March our system stopped producing electricity for about 2 a half months. When I realized our system was down I called and it took them three weeks to come and fix it. Meanwhile I was paying up to $400 in electricity and still had to pay for the panels. I've been calling for the last three months trying to get compensated and the last I heard is that because we have a loan the DO NOT guarantee production. This is the only company that can't guarantee the service that you are paying for. They have the worst costumer service, the only people you can talk to are incompetent people that keep saying I can't do anything for you. They can't transfer you to anybody, they are filters to managers and supervisors as all they say is that there is nobody physical there with them and they don't have the authority to help them. They might as well just have answering machines.
