GREEDY GREEDY GREEDY company. MY paperless billing went to spam and I did not see the bill, nor the cut-off warning. I have never missed a payment. They charge $15 for a late fee .... another $60 for a disconnect fee and .... the worst part... They wanted $260 to turn it on after hours and on a weekend. It was a cold Friday night, so I waited until daylight.... where it was $125 to reconnect. Merciless and greedy! I wish I had an alternative electric company.

Jill made it so easy to move my electric service from my old house to my new one. Thanks Jill!

Does anyone hold Sawnee EMC accountable? Paid by their online echeck system. Got call from their head of acct. payable dept. that it didn't go through, the e check was returned and they were assessing fees. Only information he would divugle was the ck acct was closed. This didn't make any sense, the check acct was not closed and had more than enough funds to cover bill. I called my bank and was informed no attempted transaction was made by Sawnee, and no check was bounced. Called back to Sawnee head of acct. payable and was told nothing more. He stated he could not give me any details of the transactions due to 'privacy regulations' (it's my information so why not?), said I would need to contact the accounts payable dept. and mentioned 'you could have entered the wrong account information' in their echeck system. To date, no one has given me evidence of what I actually did wrong, only suggested what I could have done wrong. No emailed receipt of this has been given Placed a call to their acct. payable, still not heard back or if they called, they didn't bother to leave a VM and way to call back. So far in my experience, it is egregious how they believe they can act with impunity and customers have no recourse.

On May 27th I called the customer service line and spoke with Amanda and I wanted to see if I could get my billing due date changed because I get paid semi monthly. I was told that they can't change the billing due date unless I was on social security. This is horrible customer service. If a customer is in good standing payment wise why would you not want to work with them? So now they will charge me late fees because I wanted to move my due date to 20th of the month being I get paid on the 15th of the month. The bill is due 11th so naturally they will charge me 1.5% late fee because they didn't wan to change me due date. I get paid 4 days later from the due date and they won't change it but they will be glad to charge a late fee. This is the same as stealing from customers.
