Love the beach

My family visited the area today and it was really nice. The park was clean and it was not too crowded. The only drawback is that the bathrooms were closed. If the area is open to the public, I think the bathrooms should be accessible too. Overall, a great place to spend the day.

Our favorite place

Proximity, Low Cost, Clean and Fun. First time ever here at Lloyd Shoals beach location. We arrived after 9am mid-week and it was quiet and just a few people--which was great to grab a shaded spot directly in front of the beach entrance. Loved seeing the white sand beach and fairly clear, pale green water. No waves from passing boats as we've found at other lakes, but the water was lukewarm and clean from any manmade trash, just debris from the trees nearby and the critters. Otherwise there are plenty of tables in shaded areas or out in the sun if that doesn't bother you, grills, restrooms nearby with an outdoor shower to wash off. The only problem we didn't like was the amount of smokers. Fortunately we were too busy playing in the water that it wasn't bothersome and it didn't mess with our eating time. Great place for being less than 25 min from our home in McDonough. We will return!
