Home Services at The Home Depot

I bought carpet from Home Depot for my office . They send someone to measure carpet, which they made mistake. Than 6 weeks later their contracted company show up for installation. They kept telling me that it will take 1 day for installation without doing any site inspection. We closed office for carpet installation. Their crew show up and realize there is more work and they do not thing they can finish job in one day so we block another day for them so they can finish job. Even after blocking two days for them they left without completing job as they started asking more money to finish the job, which I did not agree for. Initially they wanted to charge 15% restocking fees if I cancel order but after multiple phone call they waived it. They wasted my 6 weeks and did not stick to the contract I signed with them. I did not expect this level of work from Home Depot. David from flooring did try to help me for this mess but it seem like his hands were tied up and his senior management did not take appropriate steps to full fill signed contract. I could have pay them more money but I did not feel right to work with them as they put me in bad spot and I almost fell like they try to take advantage of my situation asking for more money in middle of work and if I do not pay extra money and cancel job than charge restocking fees. Be careful working with them..

Look Elswhere - Customer Service Not IncludedThis past Monday, I visited the Vernon Hills store to inquire about a weber summit 670 grill. I had received a quote from ABT and wanted to see if you could beat it. I worked with manager Bill who was very polite and helpful. I ended up purchasing the grill with delivery included. They were supposed to deliver by Wednesday which did not happen. I called the store today and they said it was marked for pick up which was incorrect. I asked for delivery today which they worked out. They called me and said there was a problem with delivery. That the delivery van could only carry 2 people and they needed 3 to unload the grill. They then proceeded to ask me to help them unload it. I told them no because it is not my responsibility or liability when someone says they will deliver it. I was so surprised by that response that I called the store manager. The one on duty today proceeded to interrupt me and in a stern voice state that they were doing me a favor by sending the right amount of people to deliver because it was included. I was so put off by this response that I canceled my order
