Power has been out for over 6 hours. Monopolies are bad. When people have a choice , customer service improves. Welcome to the future comrades!

Horrible customer service. The automation had more sense.

Very bad! Its a shame that there is not other electric company options for homeowners in certain areas. This company has no incentives to upgrade their equipment or lines since they are the only option for Their customers. Our power goes down every rainstorm for many hours (no power as I type this and going on 12 hours without power). Even on sunny afternoons our power will drop now and then. We have had monthly electric bills over $1000. Luckily we will be retiring very soon and moving out of state and off the Duke power grid! My advice is to look into a generator or alternative power sources if you plan to live in the Duke service area.

Their 'smart meters' are a joke. 750sqft 3 year old apartment complex energy costs are as much as my 1780sqft 60 year old poorly insulated house. These people are a joke. Customer service sounds dreadful too.
