I had an excellent experience with Solar Planet. I will start by saying I shopped around and got bids from eight companies for my solar installation. The pricing can vary wildly. Jae, the owner at Solar Planet was very competitive compared to most of the other solar companies. For instance Barrett Solar quoted me $37,000 for a 10kw system. This came from one of their sales teams whom all set their own prices to earn commission. The spoke with the owner at Barret after receiving some other quotes at much better pricing and he dropped down to $29,000. So the sales team had an $8k window of profit. Disgusting and unprofessional!! Solar Planet offer a really great bid from the start. It was also a few thousand less than Barrett. I had many other quotes too. All hovering in 20-30k range. I would say there are 2-3 honest and honorable companies with fair pricing and good reputation. Solar Planet is definitely one of them. The installation went great and my system was installed quickly. I had lots of questions regarding the built in monitoring system. I love technology and seeing the real time and daily statistics of my solar array was very important to me. We had a small hiccup in the way my panels were displaying on my monitoring app and Jae spent hours with me ensuring everything was 100% perfect. My panels have individual microinverters that monitor each panel and it turned out that one of them was slightly faulty. They brought out a new inverter right away. My system has been operating beautifully for months now. The installation team was also amazing. Really kind people and were also happy to answer many questions for me over the two day installation period. Im a happy customer. One more note, we had a torrential downpour and flooding a month ago. I started getting some rain water in my attic and coming through my ceiling. I was freaking out. I called Jae at Solar Planet and asked if they could take a look. He had someone out in less than thirty minutes. The water was not even in the area of my solar array, but he insisted they check it out anyway. Turns out I had some really old flashing around my chimney and the intense rainfall had gotten around it. They offered to recaulk the area just to help me out. I realized the water issue had nothing to do with the solar install. So I declined the help and took care of it myself. I tell this story because they definitely went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied and that the system was installed to perfection. 2 day install on a big system. Worked with me on financing and setting up the best system to fit my needs. Not just selling the biggest system possible but catered to each house and family. 10/10 Family owned and thw communication was great. We are very happy with our new system.
