Michigan Solar Solutions

I’d been looking forward to going solar for years and took a fair amount of time vetting companies before going with Michigan Solar Solutions. That was a mistake. I can say their install crew does great work. Even the inspectors said as much based on their history reviewing their jobs. Sadly, the back office is the exact opposite and that dysfunction has made the whole experience very frustrating. The highlight of the failure is that a half dozen panels were installed in the wrong place due to a miscommunication between the teams, and I’m being charged just shy of $1,000 to fix it. Made worse, I can’t actually get a response about the plan to fix it. Eventually I’ll need to reach out to their service team to get a response of any kind, which also happened during the project. That project has stretched on for over six months and has no end in sight. At no point was the dysfunction more visible than when I was accidentally included on a thread of emails where the sales team was complaining about customers and insisting that they shouldn’t be part of the planning & design process. That lack of a client service attitude was felt in many of my interactions with the team (tried to talk me out of fixing the bad panel placement, is charging me to fix their mistake, refused for weeks to make a change to the plan that would improve performance because it wasn’t the original plan, replies can take days if they happen at all, and more I’ve probably forgotten). I already steer co-workers and friends away from Michigan Solar Solutions, some of which had them on their short list for projects similar to mine. Having no other experience I have no one else to suggest, but if I was to do it again I’d pick someone else and recommend the same to you.

Best service, best product and best price. I had a solar array installed on my roof from MSS along with a group of neighbors. John, their sales person, is one of the best I have worked with. He is very professional, thorough and extremely customer focused. Everything went very smoothly. Their installation is very clean and looks very good. John explained all the aspects of installation, tax discounts etc. Very happy with MSS and their service. Would highly recommend them.

UPDATEThe team worked with us to fix our issue. Things sometimes don't go as expected but when you have a great team with amazing customer service it all works out.We have 2 arrays installed by Michigan Solar Solutions. Our home is net zero and we love that!Mark is so informed and passionate about alternative energy and incredibly helpful.Currently we are experiencing an ongoing intermittent issue with communication. This means at times we cannot tell if the array is producing due to an actual problem or if it's simpy that it is not communicating well.We are in the process of finding a solution and we look forward to that.If you are on the fence about solar give them a call. It is such a wonderful.feeling to be harnessing the suns energy.

I cant speak more highly of Michigan Solar Solutions.Mark and Jacob of MSS are not only readily accessible to answer questions and solve issues,but their knowledge of solar systems is superior to that of product tech support.
