Impact Power Solutions (IPS Solar)

My partner and I have had our solar panels running since January 2019. This review is overdue, but we wanted to hold off until we could evaluate our system's performance and hopefully find some glimmer of light from a really bad experience. My initial interest in going solar was to save money, since we plan on staying in our home for many years we hoped this would be a good investment that would pay for itself over time. I was direct with the IPS salesman that came to our house and told him we were only interested in solar if the electricity produced would completely offset the cost of our electric bills. Well, we still have to pay an electric bill for about nine months of the year, so with our electric bill and the solar loan bill, we are paying quite a bit more then we did before solar. I asked IPS several times before signing a contract if the system they designed was enough to power our home and they assured me it would be. I don't have a great understanding of watts, and inverters, etc., I just believed I could trust them and take their word for it, maybe that was my mistake. We also had many problems throughout the installation process which took about 4 months to complete. It was very disorganized. The material shipments weren't coming, the crew didn't know how to do the work, lack of communication with us, the inverter was installed on the house when we specified it should be on the garage, a trench had to be dug for the wires which resulted in our internet line and a water pipe accidentally being cut, the electrician also cut his own wires by accident and had to come back and rewire them, and his work did not pass inspection and some things had to be redone. After completion, the company left us to figure the rest out on our own. No one explained to us how to read the monitoring apps or our new 20 page long electric bills, it's just a bunch of confusing numbers to me. I don't know if our panels are producing what they are supposed to or how to tell if their are problems or malfunctions. I was really excited for this project, but the whole experience was awful and I still hate to even think about it. The financial burden we are left with is the worst part. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

IPS installed a solar array on my house about 3 years ago. They answered all my questions, were extremely professional and took care of everything, including finding and applying for all of the available incentives. I've saved thousands of dollars so far and had a great experience with IPS. I can't recommend them enough!

IPS did an excellent job of helping us go through the process of putting some solar panels on the roof of our house. Their dedication, patience, persistence and outstanding work quality made this experience interesting, enjoyable and worthwhile. I strongly recommend them to anyone thinking of putting in a solar power system.

You have some very smart people at IP but you don't seem to get the fact that solar is now mainstream and not a hippie venture. You (IP) were the most disorganized contractor I have EVER worked with period! But I still love my solar panels.
