The entire process was outstanding. From my saleswoman, Beth to the engineer that designed the system and all the installation personnel. It was great last week when the power went out during a storm and it didn't effect me or my family at all. I highly recommend SunPower by EmPower Solar

Beth has been amazing. I have seen quite a number of solar professionals come to my door. I knew SunPower panels were the ones I would be going with but I am glad Beth came for the presentation. Fantastic personality and exemplary professionalism for a sales expert.Beth gets much attention but there were a lot of people involved with the whole process. Thank you Byron for being a superb project manager. You gave me the information I needed to keep my project on schedule and when adjustments needed to be made I was updated quickly.

Please note, this review is of my experience I am having so far, and could be updated at a later time, based on the outcome. I am going to start by saying that Kyle, my salesman was not the type to be pushy and did not harass me on his first visit, about a year prior of purchasing the system. The second time around, he provided answers to nearly all the questions I had almost immediately. Then, the first issue I experienced and note, it was not with Empower but rather the bank they were contracted with, Nassau Federal, they somehow lost my online application. Im not sure how this happened when my credit monitoring service noted the hit on my credit and I received an email at the time stating my application was approved. So after a week or 2, of them searching to no avail, I stated to Empower either they find it or just cancel my purchase. Well, Kyle pulled some strings and offered a rebate if I went ahead and completed a new application but gave me the option of a new lender(with a lower apr but slightly higher cost). From then, it took some time to get the system designed and building permits approved, however, after it was approved it, I had to wait until my project manager came back from vacation(approximately 2 weeks post approved building permits)in order to have my install scheduled, then another 2 weeks till installation date. The guys performing the install were very professional(after they purchased a ladder horn) and completed the work on time on 08/15/19, but I was told I could not monitor the system until my internet was installed. After having my Fios installed on 08/19/19, I contacted Empower on the same date, however my PM was out on vacation again, luckily there were other PMs able to schedule the tech to come out on 08/22, and this is where the fun began. On this date I was told 9 of my panels were not connected properly(lose connection), however, that was taken care of, yet I still could not monitor my system, this is when I was told the fix could most likely be done remotely, and this was also promised to me via text and email by my PM during the week of 8/30/19. Fast forward to 9/6/19 while I am on vacation in Italy, I received an email from the tech department stating they need to perform an on site visit and the earliest they have available is 9/13/19. So if that date holds, that will make it about a month post install I have no way of monitoring my system. It could very well be generating full capacity but how can I tell that? Where is my proof? My pays to the loan company doesnt go on pause till this gets resolved, and neither does my bill to Verizon for my internet that I am paying for. This is a new construction home and I am not living in the home as yet, so why do I have the expense for a service I am not utilizing. This is like purchasing a new car, without the instrument cluster not working. It gets me where I need to go, and drives like new, but I cannot tell anything that is going on, or how much gas I have in the tank. Cannot recommend Empower until this is handled appropriately.9/11/19 - Update on the issue, it turns out it was probably my contractors fault for turning off the fios ONT power, however, I still believe the length of time it takes them to rectify an issue is not the best. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome.

***See Updates***Beware!I purchased a solar system from this company five years ago. I believed them to be professional and responsible at the time. I probably would have given them a bunch of stars back then. Now? Not so much.Five years into my purchase, my panels stopped working. Now I pay back the loan and an electric bill during the hottest months of the year. Meanwhile, EmPower could not care less. We reported this problem to them over a month ago. They sent someone to look at the system and 'update' the software. This did not work. After days of no word, we managed to get someone on the phone and they agreed to order a new inverter. We were told it would take 5 - 10 days to deliver. On the 10th day, we called and found out the part had been 'backordered,' and they could not provide an accurate delivery date. They never explained why they didn't call to inform us about this change. I guess they don't think it's important to keep customers in the loop. We pleaded with them to somehow expedite the process. They said they would look into what they could do. Please forgive me for being skeptical. The inverter finally arrived and was installed two days ago. Guess what. The system still does not work. One might think that after performing this type of service, EmPower would perform a diagnostic to ensure the system was actually producing. Apparently, that would be giving them too much credit. We're here paying the loan, paying electric, and getting no support in spite of the fact that this system is only five years old. We were barely halfway into the warranty when the system failed. Also, good luck ever getting someone from their service department on the phone. My advice: press '1' for sales. They answer. They can't help and they have to hunt down the service people, but hey it's better than leaving messages to be ignored. If I knew then what I know now, I would never go near this company. Buyer beware.***Update***Since writing this review and reaching out by other means, I have been contacted by both a company representative and one of the owners. As it turns out, the inverter replacement worked, but the website needs to sync with its serial number before accurately reporting output. The owner said he would investigate the matter and complete a report. Once that is done he said he will make us whole. I will update my review accordingly once this process is complete.***2nd Update***Since the events in this review, Empower conducted a review of the situation. They recognized that their customer service employees could have handled the situation better and identified Solar Edge's lackluster fulfillment of the warranty as the root of the problem. While I accept that Empower will work to improve its customer service and I accept that much of the blame belongs with Solar Edge, I cannot give 4 or 5 stars as this is a problem capable of repeating itself as long as Solar Edge is involved. In the end, Empower was attentive and concerned. I give them credit for their efforts to make things right.

It's been almost a year since we started our Solar journey with EmPower. We made the decision to switch because of a promotion through my employer, as well as the federal tax incentive to make the switch. We also needed a new roof, so that helped too. The entire process with EmPower was quick and painless. After being referred to EmPower, we met Bethany Austin, our sales rep. She scheduled a time that worked for us, even on weekends, and was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She truly has her customers' best interests at heart. It did take several months for the town to approve our permit, which was no fault of EmPower's. The town's delay did force us to move our project into the following tax year, but EmPower did the right thing by giving us the difference in tax incentive that we were losing out on. The install itself took 3 days. It would normally have taken 2, but the weather didn't exactly cooperate. The install team worked hard, were efficient, considerate, and professional. Once it was complete, they gave us a walk-through and showed us how to use the app to monitor our energy output. In the end, it was completely worth it. I look forward to sunny days when we don't have to use electricity from the grid! Thank you to the entire EmPower team - Bethany and Byron especially for being on top of our project!
