My husband and I are so frustrated with this company. We purchased our system in December 2019 and have had nothing but problems! Our sales rep talked a good game and made several promises that haven't been backed up by customer service. We wanted to decrease our carbon footprint and make a positive impact on the environment. We thought we were making an informed decision, but now we're locked into a 25-year relationship with a company that only cares about making money. The 90% energy production we were promised still doesn't happen. Customer Service will only tell us that everything looks fine on their end, and the app is inaccurate, but we're not able to see the production. dashboard on the customer end. They don't know when it will be fixed. My system cost over $60,000 and I'm upside down over $200 per month. January - March my bills increased instead of decreasing! Come to find out, they base that production percentage as an AVERAGE - not month to month - so you never know if or what your system actually produces until you get the bill. The installation was rescheduled with no notice - WE had to call Sunrun and ask why no one showed up. And when we tried to delay because of scheduling issues, we were told that we would lose our tax credit if we didn't follow their timeline. We get notified that a technician is coming because our system needs service and they show up for 5 minutes and leave. No joke. They don't even go up on the roof! Now that we have to have a new roof installed, Sun Run wants $10,550 just to remove and reinstall the panels while the roofing is replaced. If the panels themselves were damaged, they'd do it for free. When we asked about having a new roof installed BEFORE the panels, we were told not to do so because they would have to start the installation process all over again because it's a new roof. The roof 'inspection' they completed pre-installation was either not done or done improperly, because according to the adjuster, our roof is not in good condition. How could Sunrun install a solar panel system on a roof in bad condition? I think we got the short end of the stick in this deal. Please ask lots and lots of questions if you decide to go with this company. There is a lot of information that gets miscommunicated between the sales person and customer service. We asked all the 'what-ifs' and got great answers. And now that the what-ifs are actually happening, we're hearing a completely different story. Get EVERYTHING in writing. Make sure everything is spelled out in your contract. Because once you sign the dotted line, those answers will be completely different. Sunrun doesn't care about doing what's right for the customer, only what's right for their bottom line.
