I first started considering it in 2017, and got quotes from Longhorn and one other installer. The rep from Longhorn was very gracious and detailed with her quote, and though she did try to use sales tactics to get me to sign, she did not push hard. She respected my caution as I had only moved to my house a year earlier, and had other debts to worry about. They checked in on me periodically to see where I was at in my decision making, but it was literally only once or twice a year. In fact, this year it was me who reached out to them first to get a new quote. As stated by others, customer service is indeed outstanding. I was contacted by one of the higher-ups within the company named Bryan, and he personally walked me through multiple layout proposals, as well as explaining the process of installation, from start to finish. Even after I signed, both he and my assigned project manager Kelli held my hand through the process, answering all of my questions as soon as they could. They did a good job at keeping me up to date on permit acquisitions, scheduling the date of install, and getting city approval to operate the array. As you can see in the attached pictures, the actual installers weren't half bad either. They came in right on time, and within just three hours, they had everything up and running beautifully. I had to wait an agonizing three weeks for the city utility to do a required meter replacement and system test to operate, but it was worth the wait. Not gonna lie, seeing that meter moving backwards as the array overproduced was a good feeling to say the least.I have one particular critique with the process on Longhorn's end of it. I don't know if it was because of what was written down when my property was scoped out for project prep, or a mistake done in their layout planner software, but the installers noticed that the roof of my garage was larger than they were led to believe. The two panels you see by themselves are on the north face (the least efficient face to put panels on), and the original plan was to have four of them lined up there. Thankfully, the field team lead made a quick phone call, and with my thumbs up, they were able to squeeze two more panels on the east and west faces, boosting my guaranteed energy offset to 98%. Though I'm happy this fix was made in real-time, the fact that it took the installers noticing that on their own is a bit disconcerting. This is why I take off a star, and my suggestion to you guys is make sure that the people in the offices know the exact measurements of your roof. Also remember to have the installers double-check to see if those measurements line up with what they were told. Overall, I had a very good experience, and if the service they provided me isn't unique, I don't think you'll go wrong with them. They're not perfect, but no contractor ever is.

This company is incredibly honest. I had a consultation with Beth and her GM and they tanked the sale once they learned about the nuances of my daily usage and educated me about how the relationship would work with my utility would work post solar install. Good pricing and financing options, but does not produce the necessary financial benefit for me because of how my electric provider operates and meters.

Unless you're very committed to using this company as your solar provider do not provide them with any contact info. They will call you 4 times a day and email you until you block them! Reeks of unprofessionalism.

Having received solar power proposals from three different providers, Longhorn Solar's configuration and cost analysis was both thorough and was by far the most cost effective. If and when I choose to add solar panels to my home, Longhorn will get my business.Russ, Plano, Texas
