We have had the panels for roughly 4 years, and in my opinion they do not look at the condition of the roof before installing, the sale is trying to be made. We asked the last technician who came to fix our inverter, which is actually the 2nd time it has been busted how we go about removing panels to replace panels. He said to give the company a call back and they schedule a time to go out, and he told us they usually remove the panels once per life of the panels to get roof replaced at no cost. When we call to get panels removed to start roof replacement, they sent information over to Arnold who said he will send paperwork via email (have not received), and the pricing. When I asked 'pricing' he said there is a fee for removal and putting them back on. I asked what is usually the pricing, and he said it can be anywhere from $7k more or less, but could not give exact quote. He said I could call my insurance agent to get solar panels included with estimate. At this time I was dumbfounded, and felt lied to by the technician. I told Arnold what the last technician told us, and he said he would have to look at our contract and call us back. I did not hear back from Arnold that week, or the next, so I called and they stated Arnold was in a meeting, and would give my information to him. I, have yet to hear again from Arnold, and this is with me calling back a 3rd time 2 weeks ago. I feel like customers get solar panels to get break on electricity bills, but they don't tell you about the solar panel bill you will have, the conns of when its time to get roof replaced. I would love to be one of those customers who only see $50 dollars a month for electricity, but we don't we see during summer $300 still, plus $300/mo on the solar panel bills. I suggest really do research on if solar panels are worth it.

They were great with responding at first. We even drove into San Antonio which is over an hour from us to discuss our off grid job.We left feeling like they could accommodate our needs. Told we would get an estimate within a couple of days. Have not received a text, call, or e mail for over 3 weeks now. Very unprofessional! It lends itself to them being unprofessional overall when they can not do a simple thing such as communicate especially after they had assured us they could do the job. Good to know because you would probably be left high and dry after install with no communication if there were issues.

At first things seemed good. They did a magnificent job and I'm shocked they got Medina Co-Op to agree to this because I thought only the CPS city people were getting good deals. I thought I had a huge rebate coming and I'm generating tons of extra electricity so I'll probably never have bills from the co-op again. Mr. Engel's attention to detail and codes ensures absolute perfection during installation! But the companies they chose to do the loan with, Sungage Financial and NBT, totally ruined my payment plan! Their estimate of my solar panel tax rebate was off by $7000. This messed up my ZIP amount which increased my monthly payments for the next 15 years going forward. Even if I get the rest of the rebate next year, they won't re-amortize the loan and now I'm stuck with higher payments forever. I was told I could re-negotiate the loan this month so I paid as much as I could, but that turned out to be a lie. Now they're saying I can't do that for over 10 years! I was promised a 3 month deferment, instead they only offered a 1 month deferment that charges me extra at the end of the loan. I was going to get solar panels for my other house and maybe an extension for this one, but now I'm thinking maybe I should look for another company. Shame, because the actual system and work done was top-notch, but now its financially putting me behind instead of ahead.

Don't choose this company!! We were told that the system installed would cover more than what we used. We were averaging $150 a month with the electric company. Now we are paying nearly DOUBLE for energy because the solar power is not covering what we use. We are paying the electric company and South Texas Solar Systems now and will soon be paying for the 11k that we thought we would get from our tax refund. The solar panels are $180 a month covering 27k of costs, while the loan of 11k(the amount of tax credit) is DUE IN FULL by Aug 2019. We are NOT SATISFIED AT ALL! What a mess. Don't buy into what they're selling too quickly. Talk to their solar tech for accurate info. The sales representative isn't accurate and doesn't have the knowledge that the solar Tech does and the sales pitch doesn't match the reality of it. We were told that we'd get $11,934 from tax refund to pay the no money up front loan they suggested. They calculated the 30%solar credit, told us to get a loan on that 11k amount because we would get that in our refund to pay it right back once we filed our taxes...all in time before the 11k loan payment was due in Aug 2019. What a mess. The sales team is just looking to get you to buy and will tell you anything to get you, true or not.

After researching the advantages of renewable solar energy, and receiving cost estimates from two solar companies, my wife and I decided to purchase a solar panel system from South Texas Solar Systems, Inc.This is one of the best personal decisions we have ever made, not just for the energy savings for our home but for the environmental impact by reducing greenhouse gases and relieving the load on the electrical grid. The decision to choose SSTS over the other solar companies came down to the 'best' cost, 'exceptional' quality(panasonic solar panels and solaredge inverter and optimizers) and warranties offered by SSTS. Before the installation started, Arnold Andrade(coordinator) and David Ross(technician) met with us to review the process and timelines moving forward. The process moved along smoothly according to the 'process map' given to us with timely updates from Arnold as to next installation steps. The installers did an exceptional job and conducted themselves in a professional manner. SSTS also offers free solar panel washing and tree trimming if needed. We are very happy with our new solar system thanks to Arnold Andrade, David Ross and SSTS in general. I would highly recommend SSTS to anyone looking to install a solar system. Thanks,Leonard and Maria Molina
