As I walked through island market the day after our 17 hour power outage and discovered the store loss and saw all of eastsound out of power except island market and lower tavern (on generators?) I felt keenly the loss to businesses on a 4 day holiday weekend opening up the holiday season, losing one full day of business.The power had gone out at 3 am and was not back on until approximately 11 pm that night- almost 18 hrsI couldnt help wondering why more than 9 crew members werent dispatched for an outage that would affect heating, food and more for entire islands and towns. It also made me wonder about the tree readiness for winter. Why are trees running in between lines and overgrowing? Most power companies notify customers if trees are potentially hazardous and the owners responsibility to remove and also the power companies themselves contract to remove trees on county right of ways or to be trimmed away from power lines. Disappointed in opalco- although the people are so nice.Fast forward 1 day and we are again out of power with no anticipated restoration. Schools closed, businesses and people unable to maintain schedulesPlanes are flying, ferries running. Looking for our power company to get enough workers out to fix these outages in a timely manner and reduce tree hazards....Lack of crew or lack of calling out crew causes the crew to become fatigued and accidents to occur. Opalco employees are our friends and family. Lets keep them safe
