Dunn Energy Cooperative

Not a cooperative company at all! Through COVID and still during COVID they decided that EVERYONE must be paid in full by 6/30/20 or services will be disconnected. No wiggle room or empathy or compassion to work with their customers to make any kind of arrangements! Not even extending a short 3 days... NOPE! shut the power off! And apparently nobody there can talk or assist except for this Diane. I sure hope her life and her family never runs into hard times and stays safe and healthy through COVID! God I wish I could get other electric services from a different company!

Power goes out on my road pretty much everytime it's windy, a storm comes through, it rains, or it snows. Takes a couple of hours to restore meanwhile it takes them like fifteen minutes to actually fix the issue once they are on our road.

I think some of the dissatisfaction is from the way the billing is displayed. Several years ago the decision was made to change from straight kilowatt charge to a set base rate plus electric use. This was an attempt to be more transparent and show the members that there is a cost incurred to have a line run to the home, costs of metering equipment and maintenance. In order words, if you use 10 KW or 10,000 KW the coop has still invested XXX dollars into providing service to that meter. It's not an extra charge, the kilowatt rate could be raised and the base fee eliminated, but you would still be paying for these basic costs. Dunn Energy has been the provided for myself, parents and grandparents since it's inception. In my work I've had to try to make contact with privately owned utilities such as Xcel and have found their customer service to be far inferior, if I can even get an answer or callback.The coop prides itself on the cooperative principals and staff from office to linemen, all inclusive really do their very best to provide great service.Keep it up!

They are a cooperative and can do whatever they want and are not regulated. Horrible customer service. Will not work with you.
