Our original installer Sun Technics went out of business a long time ago. That was fine while the system was performing without the need for service. On Memorial Day weekend our Fronius inverter gave up the ghost after 13 years and one month plus of service so I needed someone. I searched the Fronius website and found reference to 2 local guys, one in SJ and one on the peninsula. We used Dave Lee with Roam Solar who ordered and replaced our inverter in less than a week. This was very helpful since we're in a period with a lot of daylight and energy production from the panels. Replacement was recommended over repair because the rest of the unit would still be beyond warranty (by a lot) and the new units have remote monitoring. I knew the original unit was supposed to be replaced around year 12 so I felt we got our moneys worth from that one. Dave is pretty low key and Id trust him to do a proper assessment and get the job done right for a fair price. I have no reservations recommending his services to anyone in need. He was clear in his recommendations and I was very pleased to rely on his expertise and experience with the Fronius inverters.

ROAM Solar replaced an inverter for us in May 2020. Dave Lee is honest and knowledgeable. He did a great job and communicated well. Our system is back up and running. I have an app to watch the solar output. I highly recommend ROAM Solar for inverter repairs and replacement.

I needed to have a 3KW Fronius Inverter replaced. The Fronius Tech support recommended Roam Solar in Bay Area so I called Dave Lee. Dave has taken the Fronius training courses and is certified on their equipment. This was important to me for warranty purposes. Despite a busy schedule, he was able to slot me in within a week. I had already purchased a new 3.8KW inverter and he was flexible enough to just do the new equipment install w/o redesigning the whole system. This greatly helped me minimize cost, learning curve, and maximize compatibility, key objectives for me. Dave communicated well over email, came out on a Saturday and installed the new system in the time he estimated and for the quoted cost. The inverter came up without a hitch and is meeting all my expectations. His install looks professional and I'm confident in the safety of his work. I'm delighted with the job he did and really excited to have my inverter up and running now; feeding energy back into the grid when its not powering my AC and Electric vehicle. I would hire Dave again in a minute.

My 11 year old solar inverter failed and the manufacturer of the inverter was no longer in business. I contacted ROAM, hoping I'd find someone familiar with the inverter. Dave came and spent an hour trying to troubleshoot to no avail, and we decided a replacement of the inverter was the best solution. He priced it out for me and in a few days, came by to install it. Unfortunately, the installation required an additional electrical box to cover up the cables behind the old larger inverter properly, and he had to make a 3rd trip back. All in all, it took longer than had expected, including the extra visit, but he charged me only for the extra part and insisted in not charging more than what he had quoted. It would've been acceptable by me if he did charge extra -- I value a job done right, but his integrity and the quality of his job was first rate, and I couldn't recommend ROAM more.
