They used to be great. Now no one returns phone calls or does what they say they are going to do!!! The worst customer service ever.

I had an absolute horrible experience with RGS Energy and I'd like to share my experience to warn others about it. I used RGS Energy to install a large solar system on one of my homes. I spent about $35,000 cash and purchased a 33 panel system with individual micro-inverters added for each panel which I was told would allow me to monitor the production of each panel online. The micro-inverter system NEVER WORKED and I've been dealing with the company for several years to get it fixed or replaced with them transferring or referring me to someone else within the company, not returning my calls or e-mails, and continuously delay my questions and issues saying that they have to follow-up on something or wait on a response from someone else. Their company is seriously a mess and it was very obvious that nobody communicates internally with each other there. To make a documented very long and frustrating story short, I finally learned that the 'brains' to the solar micro-inverter monitoring system called an 'Envoy' was defective from install (because it never ever even worked) and had also been installed incorrectly by RGS Energy installers originally into a GFI Protected Outlet which the 'Envoy' company warns not to do.Jeannette Berry from RGS Energy customer support just gave me RGS Energy's 'final answer' to me which was that the company was not going to replace my defective 'Envoy' and that I would have to purchase another 'Envoy' device from the Envoy company directly for almost $400 because it was out of 'Envoy's' limited 2 year warranty coverage deal that they have with RGS Energy. RGS Energy also denied that the GFI Protected Outlet install by their installers damaged the Envoy despite multiple warning in the Envoy booklets not to plug it into a GFI Protected Outlet. Basically, I very strongly feel that RGS Energy should have definitely covered my defective Envoy cost to get the system that they originally promised me working when I paid almost $35,000 for this solar system. I plan on contacting the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to file a complaint and also still pursing this issue in Civil Court immediately. This is not right! Please save yourself the waste of money for a solar monitoring system that never even worked and go with another company. I have two other ranch properties that I plan on adding a solar system to this year and have been getting quotes from Peterson Dean Solar and Semper Solaris. Both of those companies have much better reviews and and customer satisfaction ratings! Do your research please! I hope I saved someone from experiencing what I had to go through with RGS Energy!

Very disappointed in this company. They lack customer service and do not go out of their way to help the client. They subcontracted to a company that had nice onsite technicians, but that office staff was as much of a joke as RGS's office staff! They didn't return phone calls, and they most definitely DID NOT meet the needs of customer. I do not recommend this company at all. ZERO stars.

7 months late and $2k over budget. I worked with RGS energy who subcontracted the install through HelioPower. I don't want to recall the problems specifically because it will aggravate me. I am going to be nice and say that it took 10 + house visits, most of them were no-shows, no-calls from Helio. I would plan ahead to be home for a site visit/construction and the day of, no one would show up, no one would call. PG&E showed up to the house 3 different times to shut off the electricity for electric upgrade with Helio being onsite for the electrical work because they didn't even cancel the work with the electric company. I would strongly recommend NOT using Helio Power as your installer, worst consumer experience I have ever seen. None of that is directly RGS's fault but it put me in the spot of co-ordinating the project through HelioPower.
