Sure, I'll pile onto this sorry company. Apparently, they don't know the definition of autopay. Our account was setup for autopay, but after transferring our account to a new address, they never bothered to debit our final bill. They also failed to mail us any notices to our new address or our old address which had a forward set up. They failed to email or call...basically never contacted us at all. It says this right on their website. We paid multiple electrical bills on 2 different addresses, so a 2-week span in-between just got overlooked.'If an account becomes past due and is subject to disconnection, Gulf Power will contact the customer via a prerecorded message to the primary account telephone and by letter requesting that the customer call Gulf Power to discuss the account.'But they never contacted us. Instead, 4 months later, we received a letter from collections, requesting payment. Their customer service is a joke. One person suggested I just pay the collection, but the other gave me a Gulf Power account number I could pay directly, only to find out it was bogus. Neither could provide much explanation on why we were never contacted.

We paid our January bill to the old account and Gulf Power had not refunded our money and continues to send us past due bills. We have opened up an investigation and called numerous times. We have never had a call back and have been assured that a supervisor would call us within 72 hours. We have called multiple times (10+) over the course of four months and sent emails and been given the same response. We are furious and need a refund or for the money to go back to the right account.

Could you make it any harder just to pay the stupid bill?

How difficult can you possibly make a website, Gulf Power has figured out the world's worst website.
