S/V AghavniOyster 485Incredible service. As the owner of a home building company, I have had the opportunity to literally work with thousands of subcontractors. I would rate Patrick and Marine Electric Systems as among the very best team I have ever worked with. They are responsive, professional, honest, and thorough. Marine Electric Systems came highly recommended by another sailor. I did my research as we were preparing the boat for extensive offshore sailing. After our complete electrical refit in 2017 we have sailed more than 7500 miles offshore and are extremely pleased with the systems and designs that were installed by Patrick. Marine Electric Systems spent hundreds of hours on my boat and have diligently worked to address each of my requests--oftentimes making practical suggestions and cost saving ideas (without sacrificing functionality). I cannot recommend them highly enough and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.

I first talked to Patrick, the owner of MES, right after the Sailboat Show, expecting to be told that I would have to wait weeks. From then on he was in constant communication and got me on their schedule quickly. I was wanting a Garmin chartplotter/radar bundle and an AIS VHF radio for my rather modest Catalina 36. First Sean was out there to size up the work and start the project and then in the following days Rob completed the work, mostly while I was off the boat. They sent guys up the mast twice. I finally met Patrick when he had to deliver a part to Rob. These guys couldn't have been nicer, more efficient, and informative. They clearly knew what they were about and their trucks are really well supplied. Somehow through the whole experience, none of us ever talked about price or deposits. When the bill finally came, it was exactly what I expected with no surprises. I ran a boatyard for 10 years and wish that I had had such a group that I could completely depend upon. I hope that I was as good a customer as they were service providers. MES of Annapolis will always have my business. Happy Holidays to Patrick, Rob, and Sean.....and a Big Thank You; I couldn't be happier!! Dmitri Bernhardt, Voorhees, NJ

I recently had lithium batteries installed on our boat. I'd done a ton of research before deciding to do it, but the biggest issue was to do it safely and to make sure everything was working nicely with the lithiums. Doing a bad job on a boat can be catastrophic. That meant the two Balmar 612 charge regulators that regulate the power coming from the two alternators, the Mastervolt Chargemaster 12/100-3 charger, and the Victron SmartSolar 100/50 all needed to be properly configured so the batteries don't get over- or under-charged. I'd been told that the best in the business was in Annapolis at Marine Electric Systems by other sailors, one of which had had an 1,800 Ah lithium system installed on his boat. I was not disappointed! Patrick and Rob know boat electrical systems better than anyone I've worked with in the past. I ended up hiring Rob to come all the way down to Portsmouth, VA to do the install on our boat. He was fast, efficient, and the quality of his work was flawless. Just as importantly, he answered all the questions I fired at him and made sure I understood. If I ever need electrical work done on our boat again, they're my number one choice!

My Magnum MS2012 Inverter Charger had worked flawlessly for nine years, but when my Sabreline 42 powerboat came out of the yard this spring it would not charge the boats batteries. I contacted Magnum in Everett, WA. A representative of the company helped me troubleshoot the MS2012 and we concluded we either had to repair it or buy a new one. Magnum recommended Marine Electric Systems in Annapolis, Md as its preferred Service Center, which is about 140 miles from our home in the Northern Neck of Virginia and about a three and one half hour drive. I knew it would be a real challenge to drive up and back to Annapolis and get the Inverter Charger repaired in the same day, but I called Marine Electric Systems and talked to Melissa, the owners wife on the phone. She couldnt have been nicer and more cooperative. She said that her husband Patrick would call me as soon as possible. He called the next day and after I explained my situation to him, he offered to meet me at his shop the next day at about 11 am. I was very surprised that he offered to help me so soon!! The next day I drove to Annapolis and called Patrick along the way to give him my estimated arrival time. He explained that he had an unexpected meeting out of the shop at 11 am, but he would arrange for one of his Techs to meet me and take a look at my Inverter Charger. When I arrived at the shop around eleven, a very nice Tech named Rob met me and immediately started checking out my Magnum. Well, one hour later my Inverter Charger was repaired and I was on my way home!Thank you Melissa, Patrick and Rob, you were all so cooperative, nice, expert and helpful. Marine Electric Systems is the place to go for help when you need it. I will highly recommend your company.
