We are from out of town and staying for the summer. We have a house in the south and we lost power twice during the night at our home in MS at the same time we lost power here in Fargo. Our power has been out for 17+ hours from a storm in the night but our power was restored twice DURING A HURRICANE in MS. Today has been nothing but sunshine and our power is still not restored here in Fargo. Its 90 degrees and all our food is gone. I am not impressed. Im not sure if there is another option for energy here in Fargo, but if there is, its got to be better than this.

The biggest issue I have with Xcel is how long it takes them to get outages fixed. Our power will go out summers several times. Sometimes it'll get restored quickly, but more often than not it's half a day or better. Especially after storms, in which they get weather reports or can and plan ahead. Last summer we were told power would be back up about 4pm. It wasn't until 9pm, by that time it had been out 10 hours. I even found the issue on our line, reported it and flagged down a truck. It still took 5 hours for them to get to it . That's my main issue, haven't had an issue with billing thankfully.

My husband and I moved out of an apartment on the first floor and into an apartment on the second floor on February 29th, 2020.We rent through Van Raden Properties and they sent all the paperwork to Xcel in Fargo, ND to show we changed apartment numbers. We found out later that we were charged for the whole month of March and a little afterwards totalling in $16.07. I had to call and have it cancelled in order to stop being charged for an apartment I no longer live in.I was told by one of Xcel's representatives that I had to contact Van Raden in order to settle the issue. However, when Van Raden's manager called about getting the fees cancelled, there was nothing she could do either and could only credited us the amount on our monthly rent (and they couldn't even credit us the total amount either). This is all due to the fact that someone dropped the ball and did not cancel the services when they should have and made us pay something we weren't supposed to pay in the first place. I'm frustrated that we were still made to pay the fee and could not be credited.Today, I got an email saying the remainder of the amount due on the previous apartment was past due. (This amount that was due is $1.55 of the total fee of $16.07 from the prior apartment that Xcel representatives failed to cancel). So I called asking if that $1.55 was forwarded to the new account/apartment number and I was told yes.I was also told it was still marked as 'due' even though the old account for the prior apartment was removed from our online account so we couldn't access it to pay the 'due' amount because the old account had since been deleted. Though I was also told by an Xcel representative today that there would be no repercussions because of this, I'm confused as to why it is still marked due?It shouldn't be 'due' if it was forwarded to the new account for the upcoming month's bill. It also shouldn't be due period because I shouldn't have had to pay that fee due to an Xcel energy's failure to cancel the old apartment account under our name.It also should not be due because the company is unable to credit me for their mistakes.I also noticed the Fargo, ND Xcel Energy location had a Google review stating the same issue. That they moved out of a living space and Xcel failed to cancel the old residency from their account. Not to mention, the Fargo, ND location has terrible reviews already. I believe that says something.

Horrible customer service and void of any ethics. They transferred me under false pretenses to Allconnect, which is an aggressive, scam company pretending to help with your Xcel services, fishing for my information and seeking to provide you with promotions for your services.Seriously! Can you imagine calling customer support for an essential utility and not knowing if it is safe in the slightest to verify personal information from your account?!This is criminal behavior. I am simply dumbfounded with this behavior. One star is too many.
