Solare Condos

Place is clean and nice and beach access is steps away. Being your own pans if you don't want worn out Teflon pans and good knives. Overall great experience.

Do not stay at the Penthouse at Solare in South Padre Island. The staff there are extremely rude and unhelpful. We were there celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with all of our children and grandchildren (12 of us in all). Check in was miserable. We were told we could check in early at 11 am, arrived at 2 pm, and were told that we could not check in until 4 pm. Had to show them an email that was sent to us. We had to put on wristbands before our children could even enter the building to go the restroom. We were not given a key to our room, but given a combination code to get a key, were given a list of rules to read, and told that we only would get 2 parking spaces after we were told we would get 4 parking spaces. Had to show proof of our 4 parking spaces too. All of this was done outside in the sweltering heat. Then, when we got up to the room, the light fixture to light up the lock box to get the key to get into the penthouse, was missing. So, we had to use our lights on our cell phones to see the numbers on the lock box, and the combination didnt work. When we went downstairs to complain, they told us we couldnt get in because we were trying to get in early and the keys were lost. My husband had to call a rental agency to get a code that was supposed to be used by the cleaning staff. We had to use the lock box with no light for several days. We finally got keys the third day we were there from Solare. When we finally got in, its now almost 4 oclock, the master bedroom air conditioner was not working well, and the commode and shower backed up on the first use. Although they said they provided shampoo, garbage bags, etc., they did not provide enough for 12 people for 5 days. My daughter was told when she couldnt see the numbers on the lock box, that it was dark, the person said, I dont do dark. My husband was called a dummy when he couldnt get the keys from the guard gate. I have never stayed at a place that treated their customers so terrible! And, we were staying at the Penthouse. Didnt expect to be treated like this. I repeat, do not stay at this place!

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the solaire towers. The pools are nice and well taken care of. There is a relaxation area in front of the beach in beach access from the condos.

I really.wish someone who reviewed this place had given a fair warning about the Noise til 3-4am! Wow. So many different owners and renters. Huge parties every darn night until 3-4am. It's 1am and I know it will not stop. Last night at 3 am the people above decided to throw their empty cans (after they shotgunned the contents) on our patio and they hit the glass several times. The people who rent these have no limits to the amount of people in one Condo. More than 10 in several. There is no security other than the main gate. The Office workers said that people who Own do not feel like they have to follow any rules. Forget the rules, how about some common courtesy. Cut it down, turn off the Music and stop screaming at 12:30-1:00. This is absolutely ridiculous. I want my vacation week back from the Plan we are on. Hard to relax and enjoy the Island with no sleep. Truly unbelievable, I've never seen anything like it at any vacation resort ever. Needless to say, Don't stay here if you don't want to be up all night, every night. Sunday/Monday/Tuesday so far, the same every night. Staying in Main Tower patio overlooking pool.
