When visiting the Grumpy Troll, you MUST try the Grump Chips. I would have them as my meal. That's how good they are. Plus an Uff-Da Pretzel!!

Good food, polite, but server never returned to check for refills or with check.. food is good enough to return and hope for a better experience.

We moved to the area about 8 years ago. We used to get pizza or eat in at the main restaurant about once a month. The pizza and the service in the pizzeria part of the restaurant has always been fine. We have been getting food there less and less over the last couple years due to the food and the service being very hit or miss. Honestly, we only get food from the main restaurant at all any more because there aren't many other options in Mount Horeb. The last time I ate in the restaurant, it was with a group of friends and none of us were impressed with the food or service. We ordered take-out this week. I ordered the beer mac and cheese. There was so little of it in the take-out container, I actually asked if it was a 'full' order. The take-out container was only about half full and you could see the bottom of the container. (To give an idea of take-out container size - it was smaller than a Noodles & Co container, which one would pay about $5 less for). It also didn't have much taste to it because it didn't have enough sauce. I was pretty upset that I paid $11 for it.

Great service despite incredibly busy art festival weekend! We stopped in to try the award winning cheese curds. The bartenders were very quick to take our order, bring drinks, refills, and close out our check. Our curds were delicious and arrived quickly as well, despite a line of people waiting outside. We were so pleased to be in and out quickly to return to work the festival. Kudos!
