I have had several issues with their notification system. They are not acknowledging that the issue is on their end. They blamed my email, even though I do not have issues getting emails from any other company. The electricity goes out at least twice a week resetting everything in my house. I contacted them to request a refund for the disconnection fee and was declined. I have not dealt with a company that will not acknowledge their own system issues and places blame on the consumer.

Revision of previous review. The previous owners of my house had a , Help My Home loan. When I had my electricity turned on I was told about this. Told the rep that there was no a/c unit at the home when I purchased it, she stated they were aware and that knew it had been stolen. Now 10 months later I recieved a bill with a , Help My Home Loan payment on it. Went in to the office to figure out what was going on. Was informed a letter had been sent to my home. At that time I was able to speak with Mrs. Betty. She spoke with the lawyers and was more than helpful in resolving my issues. Thank you Mrs. Betty.

They are quick to get ur electric back on after an outage. Rates are ok.

The Black River website is outdated and archaic. To setup an auto draft from my bank acct I have to physically go down to Black River or mail it in with a stamped envelope. They really need to catch up on their technology. Its super inconvenient. Also, when I was establishing service, they wanted me to physically come into their location. Setting up service should be easy, not cumbersome. Its no reason in 2020 that we should still be operating like this. Everything should be automated by now because its not 1992.
